Urticaria of the Colon

Abstract

A case of urticaria of the colon in a patient with a fatal allergic reaction is reported. Distinctive raised plaques visible on the barium enema examination corresponded histologically to areas of focal submucosal edema. No cause of the hypersensitivity response was identified.
