Area monitoring with LiF and patient monitoring using LiF and a roentgen-area-product meter were conducted on two photofluorographic units housed in mobile vans. Maximum exposure levels inside the vans were 87 mR per 100 patients in occupied areas. Patient exposure averaged 236 mR and 127 R-cm2 in one van and 601 mR and 497 R-cm2 in the other. Patient shielding reduced gonadal exposure by half.
