Radiologists Look at Physician's Assistants in Radiology

Abstract

Abstract The chiefs of radiology of 726 hospitals were asked (1) if they approved or disapproved the training of allied health personnel in radiology and (2) if they felt they could utilize such assistants. Two hundred and fifty-two questionnaires were completed and returned. Radiologists responding seemed to favor the training of allied health personnel of the caliber of physician's assistants by approximately a 2-to-1 ratio. By a smaller ratio they indicated a need for and possible utilization of such personnel.
