Abstract

At The University of Calgary, courses in Geographic Information Systems are offered in the departments of Geography and Surveying Engineering and the Faculty of Environmental Design. In this article. Roger Wheate describes how the development of the microcomputer as a standard has made this technology accessible to a wide body of users and provides details about the software currently available.
