Spreadsheet programs are an electronic equivalent of three nearly universal problem solving tools: a pencil, a sheet of paper and a calculator. Decisions, comparing different strategies, optimization and testing "what-if" questions are easy with using spreadsheet programs so they can be successfuly used in software engineering too. In the article we have showed the applications of spreadsheet softwre in estimating project costs and measurement of complexity or difficulty of software systems.
