
In 1997, the Association for Information Systems will enter its third year of operations. Like any fledgling organization, we have had our "ups and downs." I am greatly encouraged; however, by the substantial progress I believe we have made. In this regard, I would like to acknowledge the fine work done by my two predecessors, Professors Bill King and Niels Björn-Andersen, and my colleagues on the AIS Council.
