Aminotriazole applied to the surface of duckweed fronds as micro drops caused horizontal bands of chlorotic tissue to develop in the daughter fronds. Iron applied simultaneously was found to decrease the chlorotic response. Ultrastructure studies showed progressive disorganization in the affected cells.
