In this review paper various models for hysteresis are surveyed. Among others, models due to Preisach, Ishlinskij, Duhem-Madelung, Krasnoselskij-Pokrovskij are included. The main properties of these models are summarized together with their possible applications. Some open problems are mentioned.
DIFFERENTIAL INCLUSIONS, Research exposition (monographs, survey articles) pertaining to ordinary differential equations, review paper, HYSTERESIS; ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS; PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS; DIFFERENTIAL INCLUSIONS; PERIODIC SOLUTIONS, ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS, Analytic circuit theory, PERIODIC SOLUTIONS, Periodic solutions to ordinary differential equations, HYSTERESIS, PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS, models due to Preisach, Ishlinskij, Duhem-Madelung, Krasnoselskij-Pokrovskij, Ordinary differential inclusions, models for hysteresis
