Mathematical Models for Hysteresis

Abstract

In this review paper various models for hysteresis are surveyed. Among others, models due to Preisach, Ishlinskij, Duhem-Madelung, Krasnoselskij-Pokrovskij are included. The main properties of these models are summarized together with their possible applications. Some open problems are mentioned.
