Infectious bronchitis virus in Romanian broiler farms

Abstract

We have been undertaking a specific surveillance programme to study the molecular epidemiology of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) in Romanian broiler farms. The results of our monitoring activity, which detected and characterised Romanian variant 2 (GI-23) strains, corroborate the rising evidence of variant 2 genotype spreading westward through Europe.
