Carpal bone fracture not to be missed

Abstract

A young patient presented to the emergency department after a fight in which he sustained an injury to his right hand by punching. On clinical examination, there were no lacerations; there was noticeable swelling on the ulnar side of the dorsum of the wrist and he was very tender just distal to the ulnar styloid process. The hand was neurovascularly intact with no rotation deformity of the fingers. The patient had plain radiographs (figures 1 and 2). Figure 1 Postero Anterior (PA) view hand.
