Abstract

The biotransformation of testosterone and progesterone byPenicillium digitatumMRC 500787 for 5 days is described. The biotransformation of testosterone afforded 5α-androstane-3,17-dione, 3α-hydroxy-5α-androstan-17-one, 3β-hydroxy-5α-androstan-17-one and androst-4-ene-3,17-dione. The biotransformation of progesterone afforded 5α-pregnane-3,20-dione.
