Growth of Tetrahymena pyriformis HSM was inhibited by a concentration of 25 μg of rubratoxin B per ml of growth medium. The inhibitory effect of aflatoxin B 1 -rubratoxin B mixtures on growth of T. pyriformis was induced by rubratoxin B only. Total cellular deoxyribonucleic acid increased in the presence of 5 μg of rubratoxin B per ml of growth medium, whereas higher concentrations (25 μg/ml of growth medium) were required before a decrease in total protein was observed.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 7 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
