This paper describes the effects of humidity and temperature on the characteristic impedance ρc of standard atmospheric air. The characteristic impedance decreases with humidity and temperature. An approximate equation is given for the computation of ρc over the range of relative humidity from 0–1.0, and temperature from 0°–30 °C. The maximum uncertainty is estimated to be about 330 ppm.
