Abstract

A direct comparison between the attenuation of different hearing protectors becomes difficult because it involves curves instead of numbers. Following the well-known technique developed in building acoustics concerning the rating of sound attenuation of partitions by using standard profiles, a new method for rating hearing protectors is proposed.
