To better understand public annoyance with motorcycle noise. Suzuki Motor Company, Ltd., had a survey conducted to investigate public attitudes towards the annoying characteristics of motor vehicles in general, the public perception of the causes of annoying noise from motorcycles, and the public attitude concerning methods to reduce annoying motorcycle noise. Two samples were included in the survey—a nationwide sample and a California sample. The survey results are useful in understanding the public attitude toward motorcycle noise, and in developing appropriate strategies to reduce public annoyance with motorcycle noise.
