Infrared and Raman spectrometers coupled to optical microscopes provide the spectroscopist with powerful tools for the identification, characterization and mapping of materials using high spatial resolution. Each combination has its own attributes and many applications; the emphasis here is placed on the determination of the molecular structure and physical properties in polymers and composites.© (1992) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
