We have observed a time delay in HgCdTe in the photoplastic response of these crystals. The magnitude of the time delay and the total change in stress Δσ are dependent on the wavelength of the irradiation. The observation of a time delay provides a basis for establishing that the photoplastic process is a dynamic one, in contrast to prior treatments of the problem as a static process. We also present data on the influence of light on the fracture toughness of the crystals.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 12 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% |
