Abstract

The exercise proposed in section 8.2 studies the recovery of wave energy using a flap that oscillates under the action of gravity waves. The waves apply a torque to the flap and cause it to perform a sinusoidal rotational movement around an axis. Controlling the oscillation movement of the flap by a PTO (Power Take Off) system makes it possible to recover the energy of the waves in the form of mechanical power of the flap.
