Evolución de la prevalencia del empleo de por vida: nuevas estimaciones sobre el Reino Unido

Abstract

ResumenFrente a la idea de que en la era fordista predominó el empleo de por vida, el autor utiliza un método novedoso para estimar con datos transversales del Reino Unido la probabilidad para diferentes cohortes de nacimiento de alcanzar determinados umbrales de antigüedad. Se constata que la proporción de trabajadores del Reino Unido que ocuparon puestos por 30 años o más en la era fordista fue baja, con variaciones entre los grupos sociodemográficos. La prevalencia de los empleos de larga duración (20 años o más) disminuyó entre los hombres nacidos entre 1947 y 1966, en parte por la menor estabilidad laboral durante la juventud.
