Abstract

we would like to share ideas on the publication "CONVALESCENT plasma for COVID-19: A meta-analysis of clinical trials and real-world evidence [1]." Kloypan et al. reported that "7,118 patients received convalescent plasma (CP) and 7,780 patients received standard treatment" and found that "Patients treated with CP had a lower mortality rate than those treated with the standard treatment (1,590/7,118 vs. 2,004/7,780)." and concluded that "… CP use had a 31% reduced risk of all-cause mortality compared with standard treatment use… [1]".Kloypan et al. proposed that "Convalescent plasma (CP) use was associated with reduced risk of all-cause mortality in severe or critical COVID-19 patients [1]."
