AbstractThe precise cause of dystrophinopathies is still elucidative. Some studies have suggested involvement of immune‐mediated mechanisms in the disease progression. Recently, it has been reported that anti‐inflammatory cytokine therapy improves muscle pathology as well as progression of muscle weakness in model mice. However, mechanisms of how blocking of anti‐inflammatory cytokines alleviates dystrophinopathy are yet to be clarified. In addition, there is another conflicting report against the efficacy of anti‐inflammatory cytokine therapy in dystrophinopathy.
