AbstractEpothilone is a kind of macrolide compound, which has anticancer activity and strong inhibitory effect on breast cancer and rectal cancer cells. Herein, the chemical and biological synthesis of epothilones and how to improve fermentation yield and separation methods were summarized and discussed.
