A lens system sonar is understood as a system consisting of an antenna array and acoustic lens. The mathematical algorithms for the correct tasks of analysis and synthesis of arbitrary lens system sonars are given. Numerical experiments and laboratory tests of the system consisting of a two-element antenna array and heterogeneous lens have been carried out. It is shown that the lens system sonar makes it possible increase the effectiveness of a radiating antenna array by 20-30 percent.
