Intelligent Tutoring Systems are systems which provide direct customized instruction to students. An Intelligent Tutoring System consists of four modules. This research concentrates on two of the modules, namely, the Tutoring Module and the Expert Module, analyzes tutoring systems which contribute to the design of these modules. The study identifies the issues which have not been addressed in previous contributions.
