Analysis on Dynamic Changes of Land Use in Tieli City

Abstract

Land use changes affect economic development and ecological balance. Hence, our study focused on dynamic changes of land use. The study analyzed quantity , structure, alteration velocity, extent and shift direction of land use change from 1991 to 2006 in Tieli city, combined TM/ETM+ satellite data in 1991, 2000, 2006 with IMAGIN8.7 and ArcGIS9.2. The results showed that the farmland and the virgin land decreased, but the construction land ,the forest land and the water area increased from 1991 to 2006 in Tieli city. At the same time, the alteration velocities of land use were accelerated in farmland and the construction land, slowed down in the virgin land, but the comprehensive alteration velocity of land use was slow. The degree of land use was deepened, but its degree shown the lower condition from 2000. Land use belonged to development in Tieli city. The trend of simplification is expressed in the changes of land use, and will be maintained.
