As IoT deployments expand, IoT security lags infamously behind. This paper surveys IoT security protocols standardized by the IETF, maps protocols to regulatory IoT security guidelines (from ENISA), and discusses remaining gaps. We observe that, while IETF protocols alone do not completely secure IoT devices, they go a long way.
