Flexible hinges are widely used in micro robotic. Its compliance directly influences an organization's termial localization. Based on the Castigliano's second theorem and calculus, closed-form equations are formulated for compliances of parabolic flexure hinge. Precision of rotation is also evaluated in terms of compliances. The finite element analysis results confirmed the model predictions. The parabolic flexible hinge's performance has been analyzed, and the relations have been obtained by means of two-dimensional geometric parameters. The key manufacture parameters that affect the performance of parabolic flexible hinge the most and rules of design are given, which can provide directions of design precision for the flexible hinge.
