
As a new competition and management mode, design chain is a collaborative R&D network which includes all the organizations related to R&D such as manufacturer, supplier, vendor, and customer. According to the characteristics of collaborative innovation, three modes of collaborative innovation are proposed. In order to successfully run design chain, a collaborative framework is given. Meantime, some management mechanisms are discussed. Finally, three collaborative modes are also presented according to the different types of manufacturer.
