This paper presents the development of a platform for automatically testing Phasor Measurement Units (PMU). In order to develop such platform, it is proposed a multitasking application for PMUs testing in accordance to the Synchrophasors Measurement Standard IEEE C37.118.1-2011. The application is managed by a personal computer with visual interface, which allows the user to configure signal parameters as well as to apply the automated tests set out by the IEEE standard. Until this stage of development, only the steady-state tests were implemented and exposed as a result. At first, the developed application focuses on pattern tests, aiming the development of algorithms and architectures for PMUs. In future works it is intended to provide device certification. To obtain experimental results that confirming the ability of the platform to evaluate PMUS, a well-known PMU was submitted to a set of developed tests.
