</script>R-Mode is an alternative maritime PNT technology currently under development. It is based on synchronous transmissions and multilateration. Base station synchronization errors are recognized as the major error source. Introduction to R-Mode using maritime radio beacons, timing requirements, and the concept of R-Mode in-band synchronization are briefly presented.
