
MySQL is an open-source, free and relational database management system that is growing rapidly over clouds. All hosting servers support the MySQL database. However, it has its pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses, but this research focuses on its performance speed, a weak point of MySQL and describes how to deal with this issue and how to speed up a MySQL table which has more than a million records. Many organizations and companies are using MySQL database to store their data online whether it is a database or website. In addition, this paper presents how Facebook retrieve its big data from MySQL database with high performance speed and its reason.
