Biomedical engineering equipment management system (BEEMS)

Abstract

This presentation will review practical tools and reports generated by our system (BEEMS) Biomedical Equipment Management System that serves unique purpose. Management systems must contain valuable information that can be used to improve management of and level of service performance. The relationship between database elements within this system and their contribution to the benefit of both the Biomedical Engineering Department and the institution will be highlighted. Asset information generated is distributed to departments, administration, and equipment managers. The system generates monthly reports that are used for documentation and improvement of PM completion rate, reduce operator errors and minimize device's physical damage. Resource consumption is an essential part of management. The Monthly Management Report generated by the system will be described showing the relationship between key items it focuses on including labor recovery, parts consumption, contract management, outside service, overtime, and training.
