Business processes that need consistency and flexibility require flexible workflows. This paper outlines first our methodology for designing and implementing such flexible service business processes. Second, it discusses tools to ease the specification and re-use of flexible service processes. Finally, it presents the methodology process. This process is the result of applying a framework of business process management to our methodology. Our methodology and its process were developed in a consulting project. For our client, the proposed change was a radical development process reengineering, for which we identified the key success soft-factors first. Then we developed the methodology process, which we also applied up to a certain step ourselves in the consulting project.
