The team software process (TSP) guides engineers to develop quality software products through improving process management in an organization. Several tools are available to facilitate TSP activities. In this paper we surveyed on several TSP supporting tools. We have also provided a comparative study based on the criteria for a good TSP tool provided by expert researchers. Based on the survey, we traced out the shortcomings of current TSP supporting tools and we proposed a process guided approach for TSP supporting tools to overcome those shortfalls. We also proposed to integrate Six Sigma tools for better data analysis and visualization.
