The paper presents isolation enhancement of 2 element array with rectangular patch antenna. Enhanced isolation is achieved by changing the array configuration and by introducing Open Loop Resonator(OLR) between the patches. The proposed array configuration provides an isolation of 25dB when the individual patches are kept at $\lambda/8$ distance with each other. When OLR is introduced to this configuration isolation is enhanced upto 33 dB. This isolation is achieved without degradation of radiation characteristics. Antennas optimised by simulation is fabricated and tested. The outcomes of measured and simulated data are in great concurrence with each other.
