Ladder Shape Microstrip Patch Antenna

Abstract

In this paper, a ladder shaped microstrip patch antenna with an average size, suitable for most mobile phones, is proposed. The proposed antenna has a size of 120*50 mm2 for a ladder patch with coaxial cable feeding. It covers a bandwidth of approximately 30 MHz from 685 MHz to 715 MHz that is in the UHF band. Various dimensions of the ladders were investigated to attain the best possible matching conditions. This antenna is designed, simulated using HFSS, fabricated and tested. Results are then compared and good agreement was obtained.
