Novel Multi-band Planar Monopole Antenna for Multi-band Wireless Systems

Abstract

A new multi-band and wideband planar monopole antenna is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a wideband planar monopole antenna and the band-notched slots. In order to generate quad-band characteristic, the authors insert three U-shaped slots in the wideband planar monopole which have the same edge point and are connected. This new approach is suitable for creating wideband antenna with narrowband interferer rejection or creating the fifth or more band antennas
