Benefit Assessment of Agrometeorological Services: Evidence from Research of Grape Planting in Jiangxinzhou of Nanjing

Abstract

In order to evaluate the benefit of agrometeorological services, random sampling survey is carried out. Sixteen students of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology investigated the benefit of agrometerological service through giving questionnaires in Jiangxinzhou Village of the city of Nanjing at May 8th, 2010. The whole situation of agrometeorological services included the basic situation of respondents in Jiangxinzhou Village, the attention of grape farmers to the weather information and so on are in the hands. The social and economic benefits of meteorological services are evaluated respectively through analyzing the datum of questionnaires and using shadow price method. As a result, the degree of satisfaction of agrometeorological services is above 90%. The value of economic, benefit of meteorological services to grape planting in Jiangxinzhou Village of Nanjing is 768150 yuan through shodow price method.
