One thing has become very clear with the advent of virtualized solutions: the world of siloed solutions for home or business networking or mobile backhaul or fixed broadband or data centers are likely to become a thing of the past. NFV is set to become the catalyst of this transformation against a background of many concurrent technical and operational advances. This is where the Broadband Forum has been able to bring its expertise and experience for a holistic approach to the potential for new revenue-generating services. Those who have not followed the work of the Forum for a few years might be startled to see the work being done to enable seamless implementation of new technologies and the adaptation to agile work practices in order to achieve those goals.
