An Effective Communication Platform Based on XMPP for HWME

Abstract

The theory of open complex giant system (OCGS) and its corresponding methodology named Hall for Workshop of Metasynthesis Engineering (HWME) were proposed in 1990s. Many implementations of HWME system have emerged in recent years. As the basis of the HWME system, communication platform became the key factor gradually. At the same time, instant messaging (IM) is more and more popular as the internet develops. Extensible messaging and presence protocol (XMPP), as an open and extensible IM protocol, is welcomed by many researchers. In this paper, we propose an effective communication platform based on XMPP. Moreover, the implementation of this communication platform and some application examples based on it would also be discussed.
