MSSF: A Step towards User-Friendly Multi-cloud Data Dispersal

Abstract

Avec un nombre croissant d'entreprises et de particuliers qui adoptent le cloud computing pour leurs besoins en données. Naturellement, il y a un changement dans les coûts financiers et opérationnels et les services fournis doivent répondre aux attentes des utilisateurs en matière de performances et de coûts. Nous nous concentrons sur le stockage et proposons MSSF, un cadre de sélection de stockage multicloud. MSSF contient un ensemble d'algorithmes de base, un ensemble de règles de sécurité et une définition formelle des profils utilisateur permettant d'adapter les services de stockage cloud aux besoins des utilisateurs. Des expériences préliminaires étudient les différences de coût entre deux algorithmes de base et des modèles de profil d'utilisateur. Compte tenu des résultats initiaux prometteurs, nous fournissons plusieurs observations sur le processus de prise de décision du MSSF qui contribueront aux améliorations futures.

Con un número cada vez mayor de empresas e individuos que adoptan la computación en la nube para sus necesidades de datos. Naturalmente, hay un cambio en los costes financieros y operativos y los servicios prestados deben cumplir con las expectativas de rendimiento y coste de los usuarios. Nos centramos en el almacenamiento y proponemos MSSF, un marco de selección de almacenamiento multinube. MSSF contiene un conjunto básico de algoritmos, un conjunto de reglas de seguridad y una definición formal de perfiles de usuario que permiten adaptar los servicios de almacenamiento en la nube a las necesidades del usuario. Los experimentos preliminares investigan las diferencias de coste entre dos algoritmos de referencia y modelos de perfil de usuario. Teniendo en cuenta los resultados iniciales prometedores, proporcionamos varios comentarios sobre el proceso de toma de decisiones del MSSF que ayudarán con las mejoras futuras.

With an increasing number of companies and individuals adopting cloud computing for their data needs. Naturally, there is a shift in financial and operational costs and and provided services should meet users' performance and cost expectations. We focus on storage and propose MSSF, a Multi-cloud Storage Selection Framework. MSSF contains a basic set of algorithms, a set of security rules and a formal definition of user profiles allowing to fit cloud storage services to user needs. Preliminary experiments investigate the cost differences between two baseline algorithms and user profile models. Considering the promising initial results we provide several observations about the MSSF decision making process that will help with future improvements.

مع تزايد عدد الشركات والأفراد الذين يتبنون الحوسبة السحابية لتلبية احتياجاتهم من البيانات. وبطبيعة الحال، هناك تحول في التكاليف المالية والتشغيلية ويجب أن تلبي الخدمات المقدمة أداء المستخدمين وتوقعات التكلفة. نحن نركز على التخزين ونقترح MSSF، وهو إطار اختيار التخزين متعدد السحابة. تحتوي منظمة أطباء بلا حدود على مجموعة أساسية من الخوارزميات ومجموعة من قواعد الأمان وتعريف رسمي لملفات تعريف المستخدمين مما يسمح بتناسب خدمات التخزين السحابي مع احتياجات المستخدم. تحقق التجارب الأولية في فروق التكلفة بين خوارزميتين أساسيتين ونماذج ملف تعريف المستخدم. بالنظر إلى النتائج الأولية الواعدة، نقدم العديد من الملاحظات حول عملية صنع القرار في منظمة أطباء بلا حدود والتي ستساعد في التحسينات المستقبلية.
