Time-domain electromagnetic algorithms such as FDTD and TLM require computers with large memory capacity and superb processing power. The latest 64-bit computer architecture together with the stream computing paradigm has the potential to revolutionize time-domain electromagnetic field modelling. This paper reviews the stream computing technology and it application in commercial electromagnetic field simulators.
