Detent force analysis and structure improvement of PMLSM

Abstract

Detent force is the main component of thrust ripple which is one of the unique characteristics of permanent magnetic linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). This paper briefly analyzes the causes and features of the detent force, and presents an improved structure of PMLSM on the basis of position shift and phase shift superposition method of multiple motors. The finite element method is used to simulate the effect, it turns out that this structure has good effect on the reduction of the detent force.
