STBC-DFE Systems with Different Factorization Algorithms

Abstract

A Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) system in which Space-Time Block Coded (STBC) signals are equalized by a Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) is presented in this paper. Three factorization algorithms including band LU, band LDL and band Cholesky factorization are used to obtain the optimum feedback and feedforward filter matrices of the STBC-DFE systems. The complexities of these three methods are investigated in this paper. Their performances in the typical urban (TU) wireless channel are also compared. Band LDL factorization is proven to be the simplest algorithm of the proposed scheme.
