Study of MIMO channels using a novel semi-deterministic model

Abstract

Among different diversity schemes, space and angle diversities which can be considered as fundamental basis for the advent of MIMO systems, have been more heavily studied for the last two decades as hinted by the impressive body of literature devoted to them. This new area motivated us to develop a mathematical model, single interaction scattering reflecting (SISTER), which is a semi-deterministic channel model. This model is applicable to arbitrary antennas and array configurations and is suitable for channel prediction studies in both indoor and outdoor environments by including LOS, reflected and scattered electric fields in the channel matrix calculations. In this paper, some numerical results of this model are presented and discussed.
