This paper presents the design of an asymmetric RFID antenna with length smaller than /spl lambda//4 and at the same time achieves the special requirement of the input impedance and also balanced input feed for the tag chip circuit. The antenna has been fabricated and tested by a network analyzer. The antenna design and its performance are presented in following sections.
