DAB is a growing communication technology for digital audio broadcasting and demands higher concentration on flexible and cost optimum implementations for use in new mobile electrical appliances. In the other hand, new low cost FPGAs and their fast time-to-market cycle in comparison to ASIC implementations make them widely applicable to communication industry. The focus of this paper is on MATLAB bit-true modeling of a DAB system and FPGA realization of the DAB receiver using Xilinx high-level design tool: System Generator for DSP. This realized parametric design of the DAB system makes it possible in a short time to obtain appropriate resolution of the final implementation as required in diverse applications.
