The paper deals with the principles of realizing a multichannel simulation of an acoustic room (known as an artificial reverberation) as a discrete system. The resulting simulation algorithm describing the discrete system is to be adapted to realization in a DSP environment and should be capable of working in real time. A definition of the requirements made on perceptual approach of subsequent reverberation is part of the paper. In conclusion, two models for multichannel reverberation are proposed. The models are designed to have the best possible relation between simulation quality and computation requirements.
