This letter describes a method to suppress undesired reflections in an optical fiber signature measurement. The designed mathematical convolution algorithm in the frequency domain works simply and only makes use of the reflection complex-baseband frequency-response data. In frequency-domain measurements implementing the frequency dependent phase function, it is necessary to suppress undesired reflections in order to measure the distance of a spatial fault location exactly. >
