Abstract

While players like TCP and RSVP are usually considered the stars in the theater of Internet protocols, perhaps the most pervasive, extensible, underpublicized, and underappreciated protocol within the IP stack today is the point-to-point protocol (PPP). The author considers the basics of PPP.
